They say that you can’t buy a good night’s rest and it is absolutely true. This is why it is very important to choose wisely and correctly your bed linens as it is one of the factors that offer a good night’s rest.

The first thing to consider is the linen’s size. it is recommended that you measure carefully your mattress so that you will know the exact size of the sheets that you will be needing. This means measuring the width, length and depth of your mattress. Take note also if you have a pillow-top mattress because you will be needing sheets with deep pockets in order to accommodate the pillow top. Exact sheet size is important because it will not look and feel good if you have a sheet a size smaller than your mattress.

Second thing to consider is the linen’s thread count. Thread count is the number of horizontal and vertical threads in one square inch of fabric. The higher the thread count, the softer and smoother the bedding will be. Sheets that have a high thread count lasts longer that those that have a low count. You can see the bedding’s thread count in the packaging or you can always ask for the sales’ assistance. The thread count usually starts from around eighty and can reach up to 700 and even 1,000.

Third is to decide on the number of bedding to buy. It will be wise and practical to purchase more than one set of beddings so that you will be able to rotate in using the sheets and also for emergency like if you have visitors.

Fourth thing to consider is the color and style of the beddings. Make sure that it will compliment with the theme and look of your bedroom.

Last but not the least thing to consider is the material of the beddings. Special attention should be paid to the material due to the changing of the season and the temperature. For cold winter days, flannel and fleece will be appropriate while cotton will be appreciated during the summer months. A good choice will be silk or satin but these materials are a bit on the expensive side. Cotton blend is appreciated by many homeowners for its wrinkle resistant property.
