Must Have Emergency Kits

It always pays to be ready at all times especially when it comes to family safety and preparedness. You should have two kits ready for your family, one kit for if you and your family have to stay home and one kit for if you and your family have to leave home.
The essentials for the Ready-to-go-kit are:
- One gallon of water per person in your family
- A card with all of your important contact information like your family and friends especially in case of emergency
- Food that does not need to be refrigerated like canned foods. Make sure that you have a can opener
- If you have pets, pet food and pet supplies good for at least two days
- Plastic eating utensils (spoon, fork, paper plates and cups)
- Basic first aid kit
- Flashlight with extra batteries
- Identification card of every member of the family
- Toiletries
- At least two changes of clothes
- Battery operated radio if you have one
The essentials for the Ready-to-stay-kit are:
- At least three gallons of water for every member of the family
- Canned foods and snacks for nat least three days
- Blankets and beddings
- Toiletries
- If you have pets, pet food and supplies for at least three days
If any member of your family is taking medication, have some of it beside these two kits. These two ready kits may mean the salvation and survival of your family. It is recommended that you have these kits ready.
