There are fun and simple ways to create harmony and balance in your home. The technique is to increase the flow of good energy in the space that you live in, cleaning out the dust, freshening things up and being open to new possibilities. Though this may sound fancy, it doesn’t cost a dime.
1. Clear the past. Holding on to old things holds you back from trying something new like a new purchase or a new idea.
2. Clean thoroughly. Wash and clean out space that you would not normally think of like under the microwave. Your home will feel fresher and cleaner.
3. Give everything a home. Place everything in their rightful place right up to your car keys. This will keep you organized and no more last minute searching for those little things.
4. Arrange your furniture in a welcoming position. Make sure that your furniture gives an inviting look so that you and especially your guests will be tempted to sit and lounge.
5. Be safe and comfortable. Arrange your furniture and other pieces in a way that it does not hamper movements in the room so that you will be at ease.
6. Create power spots. Wherever you’re sitting, face the room’s entrance. Knowing nobody can sneak up on you helps you feel stronger. If it’s impossible, hang a mirror in a way that will allow you to see the room’s entrance.
7. Stimulate the senses. Brighten up your room with bright light and greenery. Open the windows to let natural light shine through. Don’t forget a vase of flowers to add a splash of color to the room.
8. Step outside your comfort zone. If you’re planning to repaint your wall, avoid white, beige and cream. Go for hue that you normally wouldn’t try like warm colors like red and orange.
9. Surround yourself with things that you love. Take that antique vase from the cabinet and display it where you can see it daily.
10. Let artwork symbolize who you want to be to what you want to achieve. There’s no need to buy expensive prints or paintings, you can hang up say, a magazine article that inspires you.
