More and more people are realizing the value of gas fireplaces. The once log-burning fireplaces are being converted to gas. Having a gas fireplace is easy, inexpensive, clean and more efficient while adding a beautiful enhancement to your home.
Gas fireplaces come in a variety of styles, sizes and even color to match the theme of the room. Most gas units can be used with an existing hearth, mantle or masonry work. In planning to install a new gas fireplace or upgrading an existing one, the first thing to do is to choose a hearth company that has a good reputation and can be depended upon. The company should be able to walk you through the entire process of install or upgrading your hearth. They should state all the pros and cons of each fireplace type or unit.

There are many differences between kid’s rugs and carpets made for the rest of the house. Choosing a versatile and resistant rug for the children’s room will extend the life of the rug and the child’s enjoyment.
The first thing to consider is the pile length and backing of the rug. Children’s carpets should have a lower pile and a simple backing. Experts recommend a pile 1/3 of an inch or less. The lower pile will allow the kids to play on the rug as if they are playing on the floor. The low pile won’t interfere with the zooming trucks or the fantany world of dolls. The carpet’s low pile will allow the vacuum cleaner to dig deeper into the carpet thereby removing as much dirt and dust as possible.

There are so many bean bag options these days, anything from bean bag chairs, bean bag furniture, sports bean bags, bean bag floor pillows and much more! Bean Bags come in all shapes and sizes in just about any color or fabric you can think of. They are truly comfortable for children, teens and adults.
Bean bags come with a few major variations like the liner and the filler. A bean bag with a removable liner is perfect for kids, who, as we all know, tend to spill things. The removable bean bag liner makes the bean bag easy to wash and maintain. Some bean bags don’t have a liner, not necessarily a drawback as it helps keep the cost down. There are also bean bag fillers available in case you want to place or refill the contents of your bean bag. The fillers grind against each other as we use the bean bag thereby wearing them away and making the bean bag uncomfortable to use. Symmetrical foam beads are best as bean bag fillers because they have the same shape and size thereby minimizing the wear and tear of the filler.

A beautiful lampshade can add to the beauty of your room while serving the purpose of additional lighting. The right lamp shade can transform a humdrum base into something exquisite, while the wrong lamp shade can make even the most stunning lamp look badly proportioned, inappropriate for the room or awkward to use. So how do you know which lampshade is right?
A good rule of thumb is to choose a lamp shade that is two-thirds the height of the base. This proportion will assure that the lamp will look balanced. This will also insure that the hardware underneath the shade like the harp and the neck will not show.
